Discover Treetop : A Christian Tale of Faith and Courage
On a cold Christmas Eve morning, Rebekah and Jonas set off on what should have been a simple adventure—hot cocoa on their favorite sit-rock. But when a strange fog rolls in and wolves close in on their path, they stumble into a place called Treetop, a land filled with towering pines, mysterious creatures, and an important mission. But danger lurks in the shadows. The inhabitants of Treetop welcome them with guidance and wisdom, while others—rebels determined to keep them from leaving—will stop at nothing to trap them there. As Rebekah and Jonas navigate their way through beautiful landscapes and hidden threats, they must summon courage, discernment, and faith. What secrets does Treetop hold? Why were they sent here? And will they make it home in time for Christmas?Treetop is a thoughtful exploration of a lesser-known biblical narrative. A tale of adventure, mystery, a Bible story, and a Christmas bear, J.J. Dyer’s Treetop invites you to step into a strange world filled with the echoes of Eden.

Discover One Distraction Too Many: a story about the misadventures of two German Shepherd puppies named Jabekah and Ronas.
Jabekah and Ronas meant to obey their mama, but they got distracted from what they were told to do. When you add one distraction after another, you get a comical tale of two puppies who don’t think before they act. Will they put themselves in danger? Will they start making wise decisions before things go too far? Read One Distraction Too Many in Appendix A of Treetop to find out.
It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way--Proverbs 19:2

Some history of Treetop and One Distraction Too Many
Treetop and One Distraction Too Many (found in Appendix A of Treetop) are offshoots of bedtime stories I told my kids when they were very young. After a few years of telling spontaneous bedtime stories, I realized they were being forgotten over time. Treetop and One Distraction Too Many were saved by writing them down and developing them over the years. The image in this section is a photo of the original cover for the "notebook" version of Treetop that I made for my kids. A rubber stamp was used for the larger pines in the center, and then I sketched the surrounding forest, cliff, and mountains to complete the scene.

about the author
My career was spent in campus and municipal law enforcement observing how decisions--rooted in or apart from God's law--shaped lives and outcomes. I hope my stories illustrate how embracing "the fear of the LORD" principal leads to trustworthy wisdom and knowledge--guiding us away from life's pitfalls and toward a deeper understanding of how to apply God's law in all areas of life.

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandants, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil—Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
